Kornerstone School: The Process

Students in Kornerstone School engage in coursework in a very different way than in a traditional school. Students projects drive the day to day operations of the school. Projects take students out of the school and place them directly into their local & global community.

Each student will have their own Personalized Learning Plan (PLP). The PLP outlines the learning targets a student plans on covering each year. The learning targets are a combination of the Common Core Curriculum Standards that the State of Wisconsin has adopted and Kornerstone’s own Learning Targets.

Students are assessed based on their demonstration of the Employability Traits. Over time students learn to balance the four main Kornerstone areas of Learning, Systems, Design, Community.

Upon graduation from Kornerstone School, students are prepared to succeed in college, gain full-time employment, and continue upon their journey as a young adult in a democratic society.
